How to Choose the Perfect Diamond
Understanding the 4Cs, Cut, Colour, Clarity, and Carat, is essential when choosing a natural diamond for your engagement ring.
These factors determine a diamond’s brilliance, beauty, and value, making GIA certification a crucial element in ensuring authenticity and quality.
At Canturi, we source only the finest natural diamonds through exclusive partnerships with the world’s most respected diamond cutters, ensuring ethical sourcing and exceptional craftsmanship.

A Comparison - Natural vs. Lab-Grown Diamonds
Deciding between a natural or lab-grown diamond engagement ring comes down to your values and long-term vision. At Canturi, we have spent decades guiding clients who seek rare, meaningful, and lasting symbols of love.
While lab-grown diamonds are a trend, natural diamonds retain their value, hold generational significance, and become treasured heirlooms.

Which Hand Do You Wear an Engagement Ring On?
Traditionally, the engagement ring is worn on the fourth finger of the left hand—often called the “ring finger.” This custom stems from an ancient belief that a vein connected that finger directly to the heart.
But around the world, the tradition varies. In many Asian cultures, including China, Japan and India, the engagement ring is often worn on the right hand. The same applies in parts of Eastern Europe and South America, where wearing an engagement ring on the right hand is a long-standing practice.
So, which hand should you wear your engagement ring on?
The answer is beautifully personal. Whether you follow tradition or your own instinct, the most important thing is that your ring feels right for you.
At Canturi, we honour the diversity of customs and the individuality of our clients—each engagement ring is designed to reflect the wearer, no matter which hand it's worn on.
Can Men Wear Engagement Rings?
Absolutely—and more men are choosing to wear engagement rings than ever before.
Whether as a symbol of love, equality, or personal style, an engagement ring is simply a meaningful way to mark a commitment—no matter your gender.

How to Clean a Diamond Ring
A diamond ring is more than just jewellery—it’s a symbol of love, worn every day.
Naturally, a little care goes a long way in keeping it luminous.
Best Way to Clean a Diamond Ring at Home
1. To clean your diamond ring at home, fill a bowl with warm water and a drop of mild, non-moisturising dish soap.
2. Soak the ring for 15 to 20 minutes to loosen any residue.
3. Then, use a soft-bristled toothbrush to gently clean around thediamond setting, including the underside where buildup tends to gather.
4. Rinse thoroughly with clean water and dry with a lint-free cloth. Avoid ultrasonic machines at home and steer clear of abrasive cleaners or chemicals—particularly if your ring features pavé diamonds, delicate craftsmanship, or coloured gemstones.
Professional Diamond Ring Cleaning at Canturi
For a deeper clean, Canturi offers complimentary ultrasonic jewellery cleaning in our Sydney, Melbourne, and Brisbane boutiques—exclusively for Canturi pieces.
This in-boutique service uses professional-grade ultrasonic technology to gently yet powerfully restore your ring’s brilliance.

What is Bridal Jewellery?
Bridal jewellery refers to the pieces a bride wears on her wedding day—chosen to complement her gown, reflect her personal style, and often honour cultural or family traditions.
It typically begins with the engagement ring, followed by the wedding ring, and may include diamond earrings, a necklace, a bracelet, or a statement piece that adds a touch of individuality.
In many Western weddings, bridal jewellery is refined and timeless.
In Asian and Indian cultures, it may be bold, symbolic, and richly layered.
Whether it’s a classic diamond ring, a sculptural necklace from Canturi’s Cubism collection, or a bespoke heirloom design, bridal jewellery is more than adornment—it’s a personal expression of the bride’s story, style, and commitment.
Does Canturi use 'Conflict-Free' diamonds?
Canturi ensures all diamonds purchased are from those sources that adhere to the Kimberley Process Certification Scheme of the World Diamond Council.
This international system was created to monitor and eliminate the trade of "conflict diamonds".
It applies to all rough diamond mined since January 1, 2003 and requires these to be sealed in separate containers and accompanied by numbered certificates to guarantee the diamonds are conflict free.
Canturi applies this system guaranteeing that all diamonds being sold are from legitimate sources not involved in funding conflict and in compliance with United Nations resolutions.
